Claim your profileI am an award-winning journalist, writer and editor based in Mobile, Alabama. I have covered almost everything from sports to bake sales in more than a decade in the newspaper industry in the deep south. I currently cover city politics, housing and other news for an alternative weekly newspaper called Lagniappe. I have been honored with awards from the Alabama Press Association, the Virginia Press Association and the Society of Professional Journalists, southeast division. Most recently, I was awarded the First Amendment prize from the APA for a story on the actions of the City Council in nearby Prichard, Alabama.
