Claim your profileChris Chavez loves track & field. That’s why he launched CITIUS MAG as a passion project in 2016 while writing and editing full-time for Sports Illustrated. Over the ensuing five years, Chris got to cover the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, honed his reporting chops, and grew a humble blog into a slightly less humble multi-pronged media company. In 2021, he made CITIUS MAG his full-time pursuit. Prior to his six-year stint at SI – like so many born-and-raised teenage New Yorkers – Chris heeded the siren song of the American hinterland and headed to Milwaukee to attend Marquette University. As an undergrad, the baby-faced media personality worked for both ESPN and Sporting News, and interned for Flotrack. Chris has completed all six of the World Marathon Majors and is an aspiring sub-five-minute miler. He is convinced that with the perfect training block and the right Kelly Clarkson song blaring through the speakers at the Armory, he can do it.
