At SMU, he teaches courses in reporting, writing, digital media, critical thinking, media literacy and journalism ethics. He grew up in Colleyville, Texas, and graduated from the Indiana University School of Journalism in 2014 and Southern Methodist University with a master's degree in American studies in 2017.
