Hi there! I'm Carmella. I have over seven years of professional copywriting, editing and strategic content development experience at agencies across the city. In 2021, I returned to school to finish my bachelor’s degree and expand into a career in journalism and media. As an older student, I am lucky to be able to use my work history, skills and experiences to create a stable foundation as I explore new opportunities. I spent the last two years developing my reporting skills as an editorial intern at BUST Magazine as well as contributing regularly to Milwaukee Magazine, Milwaukee Record and Media Milwaukee. I am the Editor in Chief at our school newspaper, the UWM Post, after spending a year as the Arts & Culture Editor. I recently won a 2023 Gridiron Excellence in Journalism Award in Best Long Hard Feature Story for my story “Wisconsin Women Seek Abortions in Neighboring States."
