Claim your profileBruno Aranda is an experienced software engineer based in Barcelona, Spain. With a Master’s Degree in Biology, he started working in Bioinformatics -using computer tools to solve problems in Biology- very early on at a small startup. A few years later, he moved to Cambridge (UK) to work for an important research institute in the field. Willing to explore how other industries work, he left computational biology behind to work for British Sky TV, in a team in charge of the customer’s portal and payment gateway. Since then, he went to work for a consultancy, doing work at every level for very different clients. From the subscription system for the National Lottery, to the front-end web application to pay your taxes at the HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs). So he can say he is like James Bond, in the service of Her Majesty. After dealing with an interesting project of intelligent boilers connected to the internet (so customers could be alerted right away if anything was wrong with them), he came back to Spain, where he has been leading the software development of a start-up in the field of the Internet of Things. Along the way, he has been working with the best and gained a lot of experience at all levels of the stack. Sadly, an obsession too: delivering high quality software. Specialities: Java, Scala, Typescript/Javascript, VueJs, ReactJs, Agile/lean software development, BDD, TDD, Pair Programming. Big Data processing and analysis (Flink, Kafka, Spark, etc). Internet of Things. AWS, Azure.Author of Facelets Essentials: Guide to JavaServer Faces View Definition Framework (2008), published by Apress.
