Brendan Marks is an award-winning sports reporter at The Athletic, where he covers Duke and North Carolina basketball. Brendan has written features, columns, enterprise stories, and game coverage about all aspects of college basketball, but primarily UNC and Duke. He has appeared on ESPN, Sirius XM, and several local television and radio stations. He has received recognition from both the Associated Press Sports Editors and the North Carolina Press Association, including the Walter Spearman Award for Outstanding Writing by a reporter with two or less years experience. Brendan previously worked for The Charlotte Observer as the newspaper's primary Carolina Panthers beat reporter, among other duties. His writing has also appeared in Sports Illustrated, The Boston Globe, The Baltimore Sun, and more. A native of Raleigh, N.C., he received a B.A. in Broadcast & Electronic Journalism and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
