I'm a journalist, mostly on the editing end of things these days. Primary venues over the years include Houston Press, Texas Observer, and Missoula Independent (defunct). I started as Editor of Montana Free Press (montanafreepress.org) in the summer of 2019 and transitioned into my current role as Projects Editor in 2025. I occasionally moonlight as a contract copy editor and proofreader, and provide style guidance and peer review for Patagonia Books and Write By Night Editorial Services, among others. My nonfiction book "Opportunity, Montana: Big Copper, Bad Water, and the Burial of an American Landscape" was published by Beacon Press in 2013.
