Claim your profileWhile in college, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I spent time as a computer science major before switching to journalism. I dropped out of school for a while to just try to make it on my own with a job in the service industry. There were several different paths I could have gone down, but ultimately, I chose none of them; in fact, I chose something different altogether.Through every change in life that happened during college, there was always some kind of advisor or mentor that was there to help guide me through those difficult times. I knew that my advisors' doors were always open, and they were always there, even if they could not help with a given situation. And after reflecting on it, I decided that is what I want to do with my life. That can look like a lot of different things, whether it be an academic advisor or something in student care, or maybe even student conduct. My goal is to become a well-rounded administrator in higher education. I have a passion for students, and I want to be able to be there to guide them through situations or just be there to support them, just as my advisors and mentors were able to support me.
