She is drawn to stories at the intersection of culture, science, food, design, travel or wellbeing and that consider environmental, ethical and socio-economic questions behind our day-to-day individual choices, societal behaviours and policies. Aruna started at The Globe in the Arts and Books section in 2021 where she edited work that was nominated for a National Newspaper Award and a Digital Publishing Award. Previously, she was an associate producer at CBC Television and The Current, and a United Nations Correspondent for International Press Service in New York City. She has a master’s degree in journalism and communications and a bachelor’s degree in international development studies from Western University.
