Claim your profileAnnemarie Quill is a senior journalist for Stuff’s National team, producing stories from all over New Zealand for Stuff’s digital platforms including Three News. Her stories also regularly appear in Stuff’s daily and weekend newspapers including The Post, The Press, the Waikato Times and the Sunday Star Times. She has produced cover feature stories for the Sunday Star Times magazine, Sunday.Annemarie was the 2024 Local Journalist of the Year at the Voyager Media Awards, competing against digital, print, podcast and TV journalists. She was previously a Voyager winner of Google’s Best Innovation in Digital Storytelling for a New Zealand Herald documentary, Fighting the Demon. The documentary was also runner-up for Best Editorial Project/Campaign and finalist for Best Team Investigation.She has been a finalist in numerous other awards over her 25 years experience as a journalist, and has written on topics as varied as international finance markets and Dubai chocolate. In 2019, she was granted a rare journalist’s visa to China, enabling her to visit leaders in Chinese cities and appeared on Chinese television. Before Stuff. she was a features writer at Women’s Day, and was magazines editor at NZME for nine years. She’s written for other publications as varied as the Bay of Plenty Times, and Little Treasures and Parenting magazines. Before Aotearoa, Annemarie was a financial journalist in London writing on the international capital and private equity markets. As a financial journalist she travelled to Turkey, Dubai and Bahrain to produce magazines on those markets. Annemarie has two Masters degrees, one in Modern Languages from Oxford University and another from Auckland University. Annemarie was born and raised in Liverpool, England and is a staunch supporter of its winning football team.
