I tend to mix things up, alongside my 23+ years at the BBC: * BBC JOURNALISM: A senior journalist and news editor at the BBC, with a very varied career in TV and online news. Most recently I’ve worked for both the BBC News and BBC Sport websites/apps as a news editor, front page editor and sub-editor. I commission and edit digital news stories, including breaking news, digital video and social content, and often work on the lead story of the day. I also spent 10 years working as a BBC News TV investigative reporter and TV shoot-edit video journalist, a reporter/writer for the BBC News website, a TV general reporter, a TV news item producer, and I occasionally reported for radio. For five years I led a team of 15 BBC News website journalists across the South of England region. I was also part of a small team nominated for a BAFTA for a new social engagement programme for the BBC. * FREELANCE JOURNALISM: I am now available for news and feature commissions, senior subediting, content creation, 'long reads' and copywriting. * EXECUTIVE LIFE COACHING FOR WOMEN IN JOURNALISM, MEDIA, SOCIAL & TECH: I'm passionate about ‘walking alongside’ women to transform their confidence, help them believe in their abilities and potential, and get them to where they want to be at work and at home. I help these women build confidence, fulfilment and better lives. As a trained coach, I work with my clients so they gain clarity on what their goals are, both in and outside of work, and what action is needed to get there. I support them to be their authentic selves while achieving these goals, and to overcome common barriers such as ‘limiting beliefs’ and other potential setbacks and obstacles along the way.
