My writing—which won several awards, including a Lowell Thomas—has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Conde Nast Traveler, Departures, National Geographic Traveler, BBC Travel, New York Times and AFAR, among others. More on my travel writing at www.everthenomad.com. In 2023, I opened my own brand content agency, Storyline Studio, focused on content creation, marketing and strategic storytelling for travel, tourism and hospitality. Based in Zagreb, Croatia, we work with brands across the globe, crafting fresh narratives for standout results. During my career in the travel space, I worked as editor-in-chief of ShermansTravel and Time Out Croatia, contributing editor for Preferred Travel magazine and writing instructor for Catapult (New York-based magazine & school). I also ran Street Wisdom sessions around the word; authored numerous guidebooks for Lonely Planet and other publishers; and consulted for tourism boards, travel agencies and hotel groups. I have lived, worked and traveled on all the continents except Antarctica. My geographic areas of expertise include Croatia, Portugal and South America, although I have covered places as far-flung and diverse as Bora Bora, India and Cape Verde. I am fluent in Croatian and Spanish, and conversant in Portuguese.
