I recently moved from line producing into management after nine years of producing daily newscasts. Being an executive producer allows me to support producers and build up more newscasts and gives me more time to focus on planning coverage of special events.I look at a rundown like it's a blank canvas. Every day, we assign stories, pick VOSOTs, find pacers, etc. Then, it's my job to turn those from ideas into art -- something informative, engaging, and different from what you see on other stations. My goal is to make television worth watching.
