I hold a PhD in Middle East Politics from the University of Exeter and currently serve as a Lecturer in Politics at the Community College of Qatar. My research focuses on the Arabian Gulf region, and on Iraq and Iran in particular. I have published both academic and non-academic work addressing regional political dynamics and contemporary developments. My areas of teaching and research expertise include the global rise of populism, US foreign policy toward the Middle East, armed Islamist movements, political repression, social movements, security studies, and political Islam.
