I started at the Lincoln Journal Star in December 2012, first as a sports clerk and then as a prep and college sports reporter. In 2015 I moved to Louisville, Kentucky, to be a copy editor at one of Gannett's design studios. While there I helped produce the print edition for more than 20 daily newspapers owned by Gannett, and I occasionally helped the Louisville Courier-Journal with horse racing coverage. In 2017 I moved back to Lincoln to be a sports copy editor at the Journal Star, and in 2018 I became the weekend editor. As weekend editor I helped plan the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday print editions, and oversaw JournalStar.com and our social media platforms on the weekends.In 2022 I became an associate managing editor for the Journal Star. In this role I supervise a team of reporters and work with the managing editor to coordinate coverage and edit content for online and print. I also hire and manage the Journal Star's news reporting interns, and I enjoy helping young journalists find their way in the industry.
