Being an assignment editor is being a jack of many trades. I can research and write up a story, I can live produce talent or dispatch field crews to a scene. I am many things to many people and I enjoy all of it. There are few things more satisfying that having a story break and seeing a reporter reciting information you provided within minutes of getting them in front of a camera. Being a journalist can mean many things these days but one thing that doesn't change is pursuit of the truth, whatever form it may take. Want to gather and disseminate information for the betterment of others.
