Claim your profileI am currently a weekday meteorologist at KWCH-12 News in Wichita, Kansas, where I have worked for over two years. My responsibilities include delivering accurate and visually engaging forecasts for our hour-long noon and 4 p.m. broadcasts. Additionally, I provide daily radio updates, weather app video updates, work extensively with WSI software to create 2D and 3D weather graphics, and contribute to coverage during severe weather events, which are common in our market. Recently, my team and I received the Kansas Association of Broadcasters Award for our comprehensive coverage of the severe weather outbreak in May 2024. During my time at KWCH, I have significantly grown both my storytelling abilities and my overall skills as a meteorologist. I am always eager to learn and grow, striving to continuously improve myself and be a valuable colleague to my team.A bit about my background: I was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science with a minor in Journalism from the University of Kansas in May 2021. While in college, I gained practical experience as a part-time broadcast meteorologist at WIBW-TV in Topeka. After graduation, I accepted a position as the weekday morning meteorologist in Amarillo, Texas, where I worked for a year, before returning to Wichita to join KWCH. I am fluent in Spanish and am eager to incorporate my language skills into my meteorology work if given the opportunity. I am highly driven, detail-oriented, and continuously seek opportunities to grow and expand my expertise.
